How can joints and cracks in the substrate be reworked according to rules and standards? WITH UZIN RR 203 AND UZIN MK 92 S.

Cracks and artificial joints must be closed prior to the installation of wood flooring. While artificial joints have been deliberately made in the surface, cracks represent damages which may have different causes. In order to avoid the joints and cracks showing through the wood flooring, they mustbe closed. The proven system UZIN MK 92 S, combined with the crack bridge UZIN RR 203, is suitable for both cases.

First grind the substrate with a WOLFF grinding machine to remove any materials that could impair adhesion.

Next, clean the area from dust and dirt using a powerful vacuum cleaner.

Prime the area containing the joint with UZIN PE 414 and leave to dry for approx. 2 hours.

Mix 2-component P-U-R wood flooring adhesive UZIN MK 92 S with a drill and stirrer attachment. Ensure its well mixed and spread immediately onto the substrate with B11 sized notch trowel.

Install the ready cut, UZIN RR 203 tile with the printed side facing up onto the fresh adhesive bed. Please note that the installation direction of the UZIN RR 203 tiles runs perpendicular to the joint. Alternatively, the roll material can be used instead of the tile material, but it must first be cut to size.

Use a WOLFF smoothing trowel to run over the crack bridge and then apply an even coat of UZIN MK 92 S. The wood flooring can now be installed as usual.

Alternatively, if applying a levelling compound, blind the wet adhesive with UZIN quartz sand 0.8. After the adhesive has set, vacuum the loose sand and install the levelling compound.

Wood floors can be installed onto substrates which contain joints and cracks as long as the screed does not give way and the area is repaired with UZIN MK 92 S in combination with the crack bridge UZIN RR 203.
