How can luxury vinyl tiles be installed quickly and reliably onto damp and contaminated substrates? WITH UZIN RR 185 AND SIGAN ELEMENTS PLUS.

Substrates with high residual moisture or contamination from oil and grease usually require elaborate and expensive subfloor preparation. This work can be bypassed by using the reinforcement underlay UZIN RR 185. Combined with Sigan Elements Plus a unique system is created for the perfect installation of luxury vinyl tiles.

The metal-reinforced special adhesive system of Sigan® Elements Plus can counteract massive plasticiser migration and thus guarantees dimension stable installations. New floor coverings can be installed quickly and easily, without causing dust, dirt or noise. It is therefore ideal for use in retail environments because it causes little disruption. The system also allows for a low build-up height. In the event of future renovating the entire system, including the floor covering, can be removed without leaving any residues.

Remove any dust and dirt from the substrate using a powerful industrial vacuum cleaner. Unevennesses from the substrate may show through the new floor covering.

Roll out and precut the reinforcement underlay. Against all vertical structures leave a gap of at least 3 to 10 mm, depending on the floor covering and load. The side of the seams between the sheets do not need to be cut.

Apply the Sigan Elements Plus tape along the edges of the UZIN RR 185 reinforcement underlay. This provides increased adhesive strength in the edge areas.

Install the Sigan Elements Plus sheets across the UZIN RR 185 and roll down firmly.

Alternatively, Sigan can also be installed using the 2-man method.

If overlapping, the Sigan Elements Plus sheets must be cut back to the joint.

Mark the starting point of the first row of planks or tiles with a suitable pen on the protective paper. Place a steel rail along the measuring points and align. Pull the protective paper away from the Sigan Elements Plus and tear off the protective paper along the steel rail. The straight line thus creates a reference line of the first row of planks or tiles.

Without bending, install the planks or tiles along the reference line and press down firmly by hand. Keep pulling back the protective paper. Apply the floor covering bit by bit as described previously and roll over with the WOLFF Duo pressure roller.

After the installation roll over the whole area using the WOLFF pressure roller. The floor covering can be walked on and used immediately after installing.

The entire flooring system can be removed without leaving any residues, even after many years of use.
