SOLUTIONS FOR CLIMATE CONSCIOUS FLOOR LAYERS
C02 OPTIMISED PRODUCTS BEFORE CONVENTIONAL PRODUCTS
Use UZIN products marked with the ECO2 CHOICE logo. These products are all CO2 optimised thanks to the use of biomass balanced raw materials. This means their CO2 footprint is lower than that of comparable products. Best of all it is that the use of biomass balanced raw materials does not change the application properties, because we do not compromise the application and quality of our products.
GYPSUM-BASED LEVELLING COMPOUNDS BEFORE CEMENTBASED ONES!
It is a great challenge to optimise cementitious products in terms of their carbon footprint without having to compromise on technical performance. We have successfully achieved this with the ECO2 CHOICE products. Gypsum products have a naturally better CO2 footprint than cementitious products. If the technical requirements allow, the CO2 footprint of a flooring installation can be improved even further by using gypsum products instead of cementitious products.
DISPERSION PRIMERS BEFORE EPOXY PRIMERS!
Especially when it comes to blocking residual moisture, there is often no alternative to epoxy products. With the environmentally- and installer-friendly moisture barrier system UZIN HydroBlock, UZIN offers a real alternative to epoxy systems: technically as well as in terms of climate protection. Compared to an epoxy system, the UZIN Hydro-Block system saves a total of 3,300 t of CO2 on 1,000 m². This corresponds to approx. 20,000 km driven in an average passenger car.
PVC-FREE FLOOR COVERINGS BEFORE CONVENTIONAL COVERINGS!
To install these new types of floor coverings perfectly, we recommend UZIN KE 60, our specialist for PVC-free design flooring. UZIN KE 60 is a special-purpose adhesive with very high dimensional stability for chlorine-free luxury flooring made from Enomer® or polyurethane. With good spreadability, a distinct application window and top results for dimensional stability, UZIN KE 60 is the specialist for elastic “eco flooring”.
BONDING BEFORE FLOATING INSTALLATION!
Whether wood flooring, carpet or design flooring – if these are bonded over the entire surface instead of a floating installation, their properties fulfil the wishes of the
occupants in many respects. Be it reduced footfall and room sound, a more efficient, faster underfloor heating and, above all, a long service life. All these points concern
sustainability aspects and ultimately always speak in favour of fully bonded floor coverings.
INSTALLATION OF UNDERFLOOR HEATINGS!
For years, the proportion of underfloor heating systems in modernisation projects has been rising sharply. This is mainly because surface temperature control of the floor integrates perfectly into energy-saving heating concepts. At UZIN, we have been applying the biomass balance principle since 2021. This involves replacing petroleum-based raw materials in the manufacturing process with renewable raw materials from organic waste, thereby conserving fossil resources and significantly reducing CO2 emissions.
And best of all, the raw materials are chemically indistinguishable from conventional raw materials. This ensures that the product and application properties do not change – the quality of our products is not affected. Because we do not compromise when it comes to performance.
NEW: PRIMER AND CEMENTITIOUS SMOOTHING COMPOUND NOW ALSO CO2 OPTIMISED
Until now, it was only possible to use biomass balance raw materials in dispersion adhesives and tackifiers. From now on, we can close the gaps in the system with the UZIN PE 360 Plus primer and the UZIN NC 160 commercial cementitious smoothing compound. At UZIN, it is important to us that you always find the perfect solution for every situation and preference. This is why it is so important for us to be able to offer you a CO2 optimised alternative, especially for cementitious smoothing compounds. As a rule, however, gypsum-based smoothing compounds are a lower CO2 emission alternative to cementitious smoothing compounds.
DID YOU KNOW?
As a rule, gypsum-based products and systems are lower in CO2 emissions than cementitious systems. The higher CO2 emissions from cement as binding agent are due to the production process and the nature of the clinker. Gypsum-based smoothing compounds are therefore always a lower CO2 emissions alternatives to cementitious smoothing compounds. By combining ECO2 CHOICE products with e. g. the UZIN NC 110 gypsum smoothing compound or the UZIN HydroBlock residual moisture blocking system, you can further reduce your CO2 footprint.

The UZIN HydroBlock System is the first ecological system from UZIN for protecting against residual moisture in concrete or cement screeds up to 5 CM-% or 98 % RH (up to 2.5 CM-% or 85 % RH when underfloor heating is present). The combination of two special primers and levelling compound is an alternative to EP and PUR products for substrates with high residual moisture. The UZIN HydroBlock System is environmentally friendly and extremely simple, as the primers are dispersion based and ready to use.
