Refurbishment of the conference rooms at the Hotel Sternen in Muri bei Bern Precise substrate preparation for flexible room concepts

In Muri near Bern, the conference rooms of Hotel Sternen were completely renovated following water damage. Covering an area of 430 m², a high-quality meeting space was created, which – due to its flexible layout with mobile partition walls – posed special requirements for surface evenness and precise substrate preparation.

The main challenge of this project was achieving absolute surface flatness to ensure the flawless operation of the movable partitions. In addition, a patterned textile floor covering was installed, requiring meticulous planning and execution.

Thanks to the targeted use of the FusionTec levelling compoundUZIN NC 570, in combination with coordinated system products such as the primerUZIN PE 260, the cementitious repair mortarUZIN NC 182, the cementitious turbo compoundUZIN NC 880, and the carpetadhesiveUZIN UZ 88, the renovation was implemented efficiently and reliably.

The existing substrate was first milled and primed. This was followed by levelling to meet the required surface flatness. Finally, the patterned Tisca textile flooring was installed with precision, resulting in a representative and functional conference area.
